**Applications must be completed in its entirety. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Awardees will be notified in June Gobble Doggs has the discretion to make no awards. Decisions by the selection committee are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given. All content submitted become the property of Gobble Doggs.

Gobble Doggs will award a scholarship(s) to African American student(s) who exhibits a passion for entrepreneurship. Scholarship funds can be used toward but not limited to tuition, books and supplies, certification, licensing, marketing and communication materials, products and/or as seed money to start a business or fund an existing business created by the applicant.

STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO ENROLL IN A COLLEGE OR TRADE PROGRAM TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SCHOLARSHIP. STUDENTS CAN USE FUNDS TO START A BUSINESS OR INVEST IN AN EXISTING BUSINESS OR BUSINESS CONCEPT.

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must:

1. Be an African American graduating high school senior

2. Attend a high school in Cook, Kane, DuPage, Grundy, Kendall, Lake and Will County. Homeschooled seniors are also encouraged to apply and must be homeschooled in the aforementioned counties.

3. Cumulative grade point average of “C” or better

4. Complete and submit the Gobble Doggs Scholarship application

5. Provide a clear copy of their Illinois State ID or driver’s license;

6. Submit a personal essay that should include the following:
- Tell us who you are. (Be creative)
- How are you involved in the community
- Why should you be considered for this scholarship
- How would you use the awarded funds, i.e. tuition, start your business, fund and existing business, obtain certifications, etc.

Should be no longer than 500 words, double-spaced and in an Arial or Times New Roman font.

7. Submit a scholarship essay answering the following:
- What characteristics do you believe successful entrepreneurs exhibit and why did you choose these characteristics?
- Who is your favorite entrepreneur and why?
- Why would you make a great entrepreneur or business leader (if you’re a current business owner, what makes you a great entrepreneur or business leader)?

Should be between 500 - 1,000 words, double-spaced and in an Arial or Times New Roman font.

8. Provide a student resume

9. Provide an official copy of grade transcripts with application.

10. Submit an official college enrollment verification form or acceptance letter on school letterhead, if attending college or trade school.

11. Submit two (2) letters of recommendation with application. Recommendations can be from a former or current teacher, dean, principal, counselor, club/organization leader or employer.
